My schedule & playlist • Roskilde Festival 2018

Juni 30, 2018

It’s that time of the year again! When it remains bright outside even after 10 pm, you know Roskilde season has come. Right in time for the festival’s kick-off today, I thought I’d tell you something about my schedule for the upcoming days.

Roskilde Festival is like a city with numerous venues, exhibition spaces, restaurants and so much more to discover. You will encounter creative ways of expression and global cultural tendencies. It’s a city created for unique and new communities, whether it’s stage dining for 2000 people in front of the iconic Orange Stage, a little yoga to begin the day or perhaps the crazy parties in Dream City, one of the many ‘neighbourhoods’ at Roskilde Festival. Others include Clean Out LoudSettle ‘n’ Share and Leave No Trace, all dedicated to togetherness and cleanliness in different ways. The 130,000 people make the festival city the fourth largest city in Denmark – for eight days every year. The high density and the temporary aspect makes Roskilde Festival an ideal test laboratory, a place where the festival-goers can encounter innovation projects such as portable wind turbines, algae lamps and mobile solar power that might make the cut to the ‘real’ world after passing the festival test.

In short, Roskilde Festival is full of people, stories and communities meeting at a 100 % non-profit festival. They all contribute to a feeling of freedom and possibilities that unfolds for eight days every year, but can make a difference for a lifetime.

With more than 180 music acts on eight stages, Roskilde Festival offers both artistic diversity and talents with an ambition of sending the festival-goers on a week-long journey of discovery within various genres and tendencies reflecting the music and culture of 2018.
